KBA addresses the agribusiness requirements for funding

KBA in cooperation with USAID and FKGK have organized a round discussion table with commercial banks and agribusinesses where many of the barriers that hamper credit lending in this sector have been identified. Based on the discussions, significant conclusions were issued that participants pledged to address in order to increase access to finance for this important sector of the economy. The Executive Director of KBA Mr. Petrit Balija among other things said that lending conditions for agriculture have improved significantly when we consider that the average of interest rate on agricultural loans has dropped to 6.4% while we will coordinate our activities with all stakeholders relevant in order to increase credit and improve the conditions in this sector. The representatives of CBK, EBRD, IFC, Ministry of Agriculture as well as other international and local organizations contributed to the table.
