
The Inter-Institutional Workshop "Exploring Opportunities for Adopting ESG Voluntary Guidelines in the Banking Sector"
The Kosovo Banking Association, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), organized the inter-institutional workshop "Exploring Opportunities for Adopting ESG Voluntary Guidelines in the Banking Sector."
The workshop was opened by Petrit Balija, Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Banking Association; Visar Perani, IFC Officer for Kosovo and North Macedonia; Suat Bakkal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kosovo Banking Association and CEO of BKT Kosovo; and Dardan Fusha, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, who emphasized the importance of inter-institutional collaboration in advancing ESG practices in the banking sector.
This workshop marks an important step toward adopting ESG Voluntary Guidelines in the banking sector, with participation from representatives of the banking sector and the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo. It aims to align with international standards and best practices for a sustainable future.
The workshop was divided into four sessions covering the following main topics:

🔹 ESG risk management and impact assessments
🔹 Exploring opportunities offered by IFC for banks
🔹 Building robust frameworks for monitoring and reporting
The workshop included interactive group discussions, providing space for questions and reflections, focusing on next steps and opportunities for further collaboration in the field of sustainability.
