Kosovo Banking Association repudiates the news published by RTK regarding expired ID's

The Kosovo Banking Association, through a press release, repudiates the allegations transmitted during the RTK evening news on 18.04.2020 where it  was stated that Kosovo banks are not respecting the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to provide banking services to citizens with expired IDs.

We would like to inform the general public that the banks are fully complying with the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which requires that banking services should be provided to citizens whose identity documents have expired. In this regard, there has been uncertainty about which year of expiration was this decision referring to, but yesterday this decision was supplemented by the MIA, informing that this decision is valid only for IDs that have expired during the year of 2020.

We reconfirm that banks in Kosovo are implementing this decision and will continue to be at the service of citizens for all banking services throughout Kosovo,
regardless of the current circumstances at this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
We thank all the media which are doing an extraordinary job of informing the public with accurate and verified information.
