Information session on the importance of data protection in the digital age

International Data Protection Day marks the human right to privacy, especially in an era of great technological developments and people's dependency on digital tools and services. The protection of personal data is a challenging matter that requires raising the awareness of institutions, businesses and citizens. Identifying effective courses of action for data protection and fulfilling the obligations arising from the Law on Personal Data Protection are crucial to achieve success.

Information and Privacy Agency, in cooperation with Kosovo CSR Network, gathered representatives of businesses in Kosovo in an informative session to discuss the steps that should be taken for the protection of privacy, the precise implementation of the Law on Protection of Personal Data, and at the same time the promotion of data protection.

Part of this informative session were also Mrs. Antigona Limani Bejtullahu - Head of the Marketing and Public Relations Department at Raiffeisen Bank/Head of the Subcommittee for Sustainable Banking at KBA and Mrs. Kaltrina Haxha Ferizi – Head of Compliance at ProCredit Bank/Head of the Compliance Committee at KBA. They exchanged views on the latest challenges and developments in data protection from the perspective of the banking sector, the importance of personal data protection, the application of law in practice and the most potent methods to promote privacy in the digital age.
