The Cyber Security Committee elects its chairmanship

During the meeting held on April 5, 2023, representatives of member banks of the Kosovo Banking Association elected the chairmanship of the Cyber Security Committee, where they voted for chairman, Mr. Agim Ahmeti, Information Security Expert at Raiffeisen Bank and as vice chairman Mr. Arbnor Imeri, Information Security Senior Specialist at ProCredit Bank.

The establishment of the Cyber Security Committee has been assessed as necessary considering the technological development and the increase of digital banking services. The Cyber Security Committee works proactively to prevent risks from cyber-attacks and intensify the security of commercial banks’ customers in Kosovo.

With the establishment of the Cyber Security Committee, the banking sector will have a common platform to coordinate the cyber security agenda. The main issues that the Cyber Security Committee will deal with are assessing the risk of cyber threats, planning quick and efficient responses to any incident, advocating to the bodies responsible for drafting laws and regulations, as well as raising awareness on the importance of cyber security.
