Kosovo Banking Association organizes a discussion meeting regarding the research on the compilation of Real Estate Market Standards

Kosovo Banking Association with the support of commercial banks, within the Risk Committee in order to compile the standards of the real estate market for the territory of Kosovo has collaborated with the Institute for Free Market Economics to compile a research regarding the real estate. The purpose of the research is the periodic review of the value of real estate mortgaged by banks, as well as to serve as a guiding document for banks in the future, during the process of selecting and securing credit exposures with real estate.

Representatives from Kosovo Banking Association and the Institute for Free Market Economics were present at the meeting. The Chief Executive Officer of KBA, Mr. Petrit Balija, informed the attendees that the purpose of the meeting is to present the report, evaluate the process and results from this study and to conclude the project. The representatives from IETL presented the results of the study and among others, they noted that the analysis provides a short and concise description of the demographic and economic situation at the country level, with an emphasis on developments related to the real estate market. Moreover, the analysis provides information about the impact of the real estate market in the macroeconomic aspect of Kosovo.

The banking sector evaluated that the final report attains the requirements which will serve as a mechanism for monitoring real estate price movements and as a tool for the evaluations of individual banks, while estimating the cooperation with IETL positively on the terms of process and the data quality that they provided.
