Kosovo Banking Association has been reconfirmed as a permanent member of the National Payments Council of the Republic of Kosovo (NPC).

In accordance with the Regulation on the Organization and Functioning of the NPC, Kosovo Banking Association has been reconfirmed as a permanent member of the National Payments Council of the Republic of Kosovo (NPC). This is a significant step towards enhancing cooperation and the development of the payment system in the country.

The objective of the NPC is to provide valuable advice and oversee the regulation and development of the National Payment System in Kosovo. Through its actions, the NPC will support the establishment of high operational and technical standards, ensuring a secure and efficient payment system for citizens and businesses in Kosovo.

 

The NPC will serve as a collaborative platform to assist in the development of the payment system and financial services infrastructure in the country, connecting Kosovo with regional and international payment systems.

Kosovo Banking Association  will be represented in the National Payments Council by the Chairman of the Board Suat Bakkal, CEO Petrit Balija, and Chairwoman of the Payments Committee Akile Cernobregu.

The NPC includes relevant actors from both the public and private sectors, through which cooperation is advanced among all market participants in the payment industry, both providers and users of payment services.

The payment market has entered a crucial phase of development, and significant advancements are expected in the coming years alongside customer expectations and in line with recent technological developments.
